Northeast Ohio is full of a variety of fun and exciting activities in the summer. While there are plenty of events all year round, summer is where Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio area thrives.

Northeast Ohio is full of a variety of fun and exciting activities in the summer. While there are plenty of events all year round, summer is where Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio area thrives.

You’ll find opportunities to enjoy beaches, watch sunsets, find great food, and listen to popular artists at music festivals and concerts.

Enjoy Local Cuisine

There’s nothing better than enjoying a delicious meal and some drinks by the Cuyahoga river in downtown Cleveland on a patio. If you’re looking for a dog-friendly patio, consider Lindey’s Lake House. This restaurant is near the Main Avenue Bridge and has perfect seating for a day on the patio. There’s a ping pong table and wonderful seafood.

Another great choice from the Flats is Merwin’s Wharf. It is located in Rivergate Park and there is a large bar area with tables and chairs right next to the river. They have some tasty seafood sandwiches, comforting mac n cheese, and 1.5 pound pretzels!

Bascule Bridge Grille is a fun choice for a more upscale but casual experience of creative cuisine. You typically do have to make a reservation, but it is well worth the experience.

As movers, we understand how busy the days can be, so we definitely recommend taking some time to treat yourself with a great view and food.

Attend a Guardians Game

Watching a baseball game in person offers a level of excitement and engagement that can't be replicated through a television broadcast. You can feel the energy of the crowd, experience the atmosphere of the stadium, and enjoy the thrill of every pitch, hit, and catch.

You can support your local team by attending a game and cheering for the team. There is a wide variety of food available throughout the stadium. One of the best parts of the game is the Hot Dog Derby where the mascots, Ketchup, Mustard, and Onion race around the field. You can expect the possibility of free shirts, hats, or even a foul ball!

Escaping our daily lives is important as well. Attending a live baseball game allows you to take a break from daily routines and immerse yourself in a different environment. It's a chance to enjoy some leisure time, relax, and be entertained. Whether you're a die-hard baseball fan or simply looking for a fun outing, the game can provide an enjoyable escape.

Watch the Sunset

Northeast Ohio has a variety of locations that are perfect for spending time with friends and family to watch the sunset.

Edgewater Park, Cleveland: Located on the shores of Lake Erie, Edgewater Park provides breathtaking views of the sunset over the water. You can find a spot on the beach or enjoy the view from the park's pier.

Huntington Beach, Bay Village: Another Lake Erie beach, Huntington Beach in Bay Village, offers a serene setting to watch the sunset. The expansive shoreline and the pier provide excellent vantage points for capturing the colors of the sky as the sun sets.

Mentor Headlands Beach State Park, Mentor: As Ohio's longest natural beach, Mentor Headlands Beach State Park offers a vast expanse of sandy shoreline where you can witness beautiful sunsets. The park also has observation decks and picnic areas, providing ample space to enjoy the view.

The Ledges, Cuyahoga Valley National Park: The Ledges area in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park offers a unique setting for watching sunsets. These sandstone cliffs provide a stunning backdrop as the sun dips below the horizon, casting vibrant hues across the sky.

These are just some of the best locations for watching the sunset, but you can find a spot in many different areas of Northeast Ohio.

Go to a Music Festival/Concert

There are many different concerts and music festivals happening in Northeast Ohio this summer. Some have a few performers, while others have over 20 and span a few days!

Wonderstruck is a festival that is taking place from July 8-9 at Lakeland Community College. The event will feature headliners, Walker Hayes, Flo Rida, Khalid, and Nelly. There will be plenty of options for food and areas to cool off from the sun. The event takes place for most of the day and has 3 stages with artists performing on each.

Outlaw Music Festival will feature Willie Nelson on August 11, 2023 at Blossom Music Center. He will be coming to town with a stacked lineup that is sure to entertain music lovers!

If you don’t attend any of these music festivals, you can also consider finding a concert taking place this summer.
